These terms apply to every booking at Living Meghalaya. Making a booking is taken as acceptance of them.
Cancellation & Refund
- A full refund is made on bookings cancelled more than two days before the scheduled arrival date.
- No refund is made on bookings cancelled less than two days before the scheduled arrival date.
- A change of date carries a charge of 10% of the total booking amount. Dates may be changed once, and only up to 72 hours before check-in; a request made later is treated as a cancellation and the cancellation policy applies.
- A change of the primary guest name carries a charge of 5% of the total booking amount.
- Downgrading the booked room category carries a charge of 5% of the total booking amount.
- Refund requests are accepted by email only, at booking@livingmeghalaya.com. Refunds are processed by bank transfer, and usually take 21 working days from the date the request is raised.
- If a flight, train or other mode of transport is cancelled, the booking amount remains non-refundable.
Rates & Payment
- All rates are exclusive of applicable taxes. GST is charged at the prevailing rate.
- On triple occupancy, any person above 6 years of age is charged as an extra person, with a mattress.
- Incidental and personal expenses, and anything not listed in the inclusions, are borne by the guest.
Arrival & Identification
- The booking voucher must be produced at the reception counter on check-in, together with a government-approved photo ID such as an Aadhaar card for each guest. Foreign nationals must produce a valid passport and visa. A PAN card is not accepted as photo ID.
- Guests arriving late are not entitled to meals or activities they have missed.
- Guests arriving early may be asked to wait in the lounge until their tent is ready.
During Your Stay
- All rooms are strictly non-smoking, in line with government rules.
- Pets are not allowed on the property.
- Guests are asked to observe the house rules and the laws of the land.
- Guests are responsible for any loss or damage to the property caused by themselves, their guests, or anyone in their party.
Belongings & Liability
- The management is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings. Valuables — money, jewellery, silverware, cameras, laptops and chargers, antiques, works of art, precious metals and similar items — are carried and kept at the guest’s own risk.
- Every precaution is taken against fire, short circuits and similar incidents. Where they occur nonetheless, the liability of Living Meghalaya for loss of baggage is limited to INR 30,000 per tent. Guests are encouraged to arrange adequate insurance cover before travelling.
Changes & Force Majeure
- The itinerary is indicative and may change with the circumstances, at the discretion of the management.
- The management may cancel a reservation without prior notice in the event of a Central or State Government event, meeting or visit, or a natural calamity. Alternative dates are then offered, or the accommodation booking is refunded in full. The management is not liable for transport or travel costs.
- If the property has to close under government guidelines, the accommodation booking is refunded in full. The management is not liable for transport or travel costs.
